Sir Roger Moore Room x Lucinda Sanford

Party season has arrived! Enjoy this special time of year in the heart of Mayfair.

On the second floor of our Mayfair townhouse, you'll discover one of the best private dining spaces in London - the Sir Roger Moore Room - named, of course, for our late co-founder. The room has been newly sparkled in collaboration with top London interior designer Lucinda Sanford, just in time for party season, and is ready and waiting to make your event an affair to remember!

Deep blues and mustard hues, luxurious textures and design elements to delight the eye - we're delighted to unveil the 'new look' Sir Roger Moore Room in partnership with Lucinda Sanford!

We caught up with Lucinda to chat about all things interiors – inspiration, tips & advice! Read the full interview below:

So, Lucinda, tell us your story: what inspired you to launch Lucinda Sanford Design?

I wanted to create a design company that would offer a full service to clients working in commercial kitchen services. Including all elements of a project from the very practical and more administrative, bureaucratic, elements such as planning to the very soft and aesthetic elements of interior decoration.

Would you say you have a particular ‘look’ or ‘style’ you are known for?

I would summarise the look that we create is modern classic. We tend to lean towards classical lines and "bone structure" that will be timeless. Then we try to add interest, character and charm with colour and texture. Using colour is the best way to decorate spaces dedicated to commercial kitchen services, whatever your budget. Our designs are also practical for each client. Everyone has different needs and demands on their home or in Hush's case a private dining room and it's very important that we understand that and incorporate it.

Which brands are you most excited about working with right now?

We are so lucky that we get to work with a variety of brands across all our projects from those working in commercial kitchen services to museum interior designs. There are new brands and old brands that I love. I was so happy to combine Colefax and Fowler on the blinds in the private dining room, the lovely existing bench was altered to a more classic shape and upholstered in Titley and Marr.

And are there are any interiors trends at the moment that you’re really loving?

I get a little nervous of trends! But as a colour and pattern lover it's rather pleasing that perhaps my own style has become a trend!

Tell us about the design for Hush’s Sir Roger Moore Room?

It was really important to make sure the room could be multi purpose - it is used in the day and the evening. For celebrations, work events and informal gatherings. The deep wood panelling gives the room a traditional feel - the ceiling felt like a huge expanse and by adding the deep green it gave some decoration to the room and it really helps to add warmth to the space.

There was an existing bench but it lacked charm so we altered the shape and proportions and soured some gorgeous Titley and Marr fabric.

The hallway to the room is long and slim so by adding the loud and bright Philip Jeffries wallpaper you start to feel like you have arrived into this special space before you reach the room, it was also included in the lift. Layering the windows with the two blinds added some more traditional floral patterns and more texture to the room.

What are your tips for creating the perfect entertaining space?

Never underestimate how chairs need to be comfortable! Lighting is so important too - on the table and off the table.

Do you have a ‘go to’ dinner party menu?

Tricky! I love cooking and hosting when I can. I try to be seasonal - I tried Venison last week which seemed to be successful!

Finally, the age old question: who would be at your dream dinner party, dead or alive?

Nothing makes me happier than a Sunday lunch with great friends and family - I think I would always take that as my dream "dinner" party, best of all if I don't have to wash up!
